TAIERI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The annual report and balance shoot to be presented at the annual mooting of members of the Taiori Agricultural Society states that the society has again to congratulate itself on another successful year. At the Summer Show, hold at Mosgiol. the gate receipts showed a decrease of £6 10s 9d, as compared with the previous year. The balance shoot shows a credit balance of £24 13s 9d. At the commencement of the year the membership totalled 165, and at the close of the year the number of those who paid their subscriptions was 169. During the year 44 new subscribers were secured. The committee recommends that members should induce a larger number of fanners and nsidents of the district to become members of the society. The committee also recommend® that Mr James Miller bo elected president and Mr AV. H. Ij. Christie vice-president for the ensuing year. The fo'lowing members of the committee retire by rotation, but, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election :—Messrs T. J Dawn. A. P. Gibson. John Campbell, James W. K 1 air, J. T. Nimmo, A. Johnson, W. J. Charters, I). Wyllie, Alex. Scott. D. O’Brien, W. Craig, W. Jaffray, Geo. Gordon, and W. R. Gawn. The committee places on record its thanks to all exhibitors, subscribers, and donors of special prizes, to ali ladies and gentlemen who acted as judges, ter the auditors, and to the press.
