FIRE ON THE NAIRNSHIRE.

INVERCARGILL, January 15. Shortly .after 10.30 last night a fire was discovered in No. 1 shelter deck of the s.s. Nairnshire. The ship’s officers, assisted by some of the crew and some waterside workers, got a hose to work, and gfter half an hour the fire was put out. It was discovered that some tow had taken fire, but the extent of the damage done by fire and water is not at present known.
