The examination lists show the candidates who. at the Education Department’s examination in November and December last, qualified for junior national or education board junior scholarships; or. through tho scholarship examinations, for junior free places in secondary schools, district high schools, and technical schools. The names are arranged in order of merit, according to the total marks made by tho candidates out of a possible total of 800. The candidates in this list, on satisfying the ■education board of their eligibility in other respects (age included), will be eligible to receive scholarships up to the limit of the number of scholarships 0-,’siijible. Those who do not receive echolarships may receive junior free places. Tho scholarships will he allotted at the meeting of tho Otago Education Board on January 29 and 30. Ten scholarships at least will bo available, the exact number being dependent on tho funds in hand.
