HELPING MOTHERS
MELBOURNE, June 14. Mr Fieher is jubilant,over the reception by the caucus of his proposed maternity allowance.- The bill will be introduced early. About £600,000 will be required annually if all mothers apply. The New South Wales Government is simultaneously considering the scheme, and invites the co-operation of all friendly societies as to making a grant to mothers before or after birth to cover living expenses.
