THE MISSING DREDGE
SYDNEY, June 16. A bottle has been found on the beach at Thirroul. A note inside was signed ** Janes, fireman, Dredge Manchester," and was dated May ii 4, and stated that they were " 500 miles south-east of Lord Howe Island disabled, broken down, and leaking, and won't last 48 hours." It Is believed to be a hoax, as there was no fireman named Jones on the Manchester.
