WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE
MELBOURNE, May 13. The Women's Political Organisation asked Mr Fisher to cable a protest against Mr Lewis Harcourt publicly opposing the women's franchise. The women urged that as the representative of the colonies in the Imperial Cabinet Mr Harcourt ought not to expound hostility to the accepted lawl in Australia. Mr Fisher replied that he could not interfere. Politicians must be free to determine their attitude on public questions.
