THE COST OF LIVING
A WORLD-WIDE INQUIRY. OTTAWA, April 12. The Department of Labour is communicating with the United States Government as to the possibility of co-operating in a general study of the conditions underlying the increased cost of living. The United States is planning a world-wide inquiry if other nations agree. SYDNEY, April 13. Before the Food Commission, Mr David Fell, a member of the Assembly, stated that in his opinion some influence was at work in Australasia affecting the price of meat. He believed that the operations were controlled from Melbourne, and was prepared to give the information supplied to him by people " in the know," but not publicly. The commission decided to take his evidence in camera.
