PALMERSTON NORTH NOTES.

April 5, 1912. Dear Pasquin,—Since last writing we have ha<! one or two visiting companies showing with the Opera House.. Miss Marie Bains paid a two-nights' visit, when only fair business v:as done. Joseph Bias cheek also occupied the Opera House for two nights. The one-night season of Miss Ethel Irving was a great success from every point of view. The Opera House was fitted before 8 o'clock, and the patrons were more than satisfied with the wav in which "Lady Frederick" was presented. Last Saturday night Messrs John Fuller and Son gave us vaudeville. The star was Fasola. who is easily the be<t that has ever rhown in his line in our town. The Windsor Choristers also won a large amount of applause by their singing. The genial Pud Petersen is in charge of the combination, and he reports splendid business in the smalls of Ilawke's Bay. From here the company went to Wanganui and are at present doing Taranaki. A visit to your town shortly follows. Mr Percy Price, of Feild'ing. go'-s to Wanganui, where his new picture theatre is just, about completed. On Sunday nicht las; the resident,? of Feilding gave Mr Price a hearty send-off. and wished him success in his new venture. Ilayward's. Ltd.. are now left in sole no<session in the picture business at Fieldincr, and bumper houses are the order of the niefnt - . ' - , , The three picture shows here are doing mere or less good business. The picture fever still has a good hold on a large number of the public.
