At tlie meeting of the Otago Centre of the Now Zealand Athletic Union on the 2nd the Postle-Donaldson question was discussed in committee, and the following resolution was adopted : —" That this centre approve of the action of Messrs Kennedy, Frazer, und M'Kay in deciding to assist the Otago Caledonian Society in its prtsecittion of Postle and Donaldson; also that, in the opinion of the centre, the case was within the jurisdiction of the union, as will be shown by a perusal of Rule 2 of the constitution of the union, and 1 that a copy of this motion be forwarded to the N.Z.A. and C. Union." An attempt is yet to bo made at this late stag© to send Malcolm Champion, New Zealand's foremost swimmer, to the Stockholm Olympiad as a member of the Australasian team. Mr G. S. Hill, a member of the Now Zealand body, received a letter from a prominent member of the council at Christchurch intimating that the co-operation of Auckland should be sought in the mattor. The various swimming centres in the Dominion will also be asked as to what help they can give towards this end. Romcril, J. Robson. A. Cannon, G. Dungey; lion, auditors, Messrs A. Cannon and D. Melville; timekeeper, Mr W. Crawford; kandicapper, Mr D. R. Thomson; delegates to the Otago Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A., Messrs R. J. Jackson and 11. C. Murray. Thirteen new members were elected. At. the monthly meeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Athletic Union the Secretary reported that to date 40 clubs and societies had affiliated with the centre. This was the first time that there had not been an unregistered meeting in Otago, and up to the present time 155 athletes had registered at 2s 6d each and 289 at Is each, making a total of 444, with nino returns to come in. The Chairman said this was a very satisfactory state of affairs, and it undoubtedly was the result of the work of this" centre ami their energetic secretary. He was sure this official had been instrumental in bringing about the present state of affair's. It was a great compliment to the centre, and he did not know that there was a in New Zealand equal to it. He felt sure that the members would continue to work in the future as they had in the past. The secretary reported that the centre had a credit balance at the bank of £SO 16s.
