PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held on Saturday and was attended by Messrs Garr, Black, Aitken, Gourly, and Riddell. Mr Garr tendered his resignation as chairman of the board, which was accepted. Mr J. Riddell was elected chairman. Mr W. Ilarwood was granted permission to take marram grass off the road at Beattie's. The Chairman reported on the plans of contracts at Sandymount. —The board decided to purchase these- plans at 10s each. Mr Garr was authorised to instruct Mr Dunford to cart 100yds of ljin metal for Main road at Stuart's Hill, also 50yds for Highcliff road. Mr Black was authorised to arranpn with Mr Robert Jury to cart metal from West ford's quarry. It was decided, on the motion of Mr Aitken. seconded by Mr Garr, that the board invito applications for the position of clerk, collector of rates and dog tax. also inspector of works and ranger, to the board. Accounts amounting to £llß 10s 4d were passed for payment.
