(From Our Own Correspondent. ALEXANDRA, April 0. Mr Edward Appleton, of Manuherikia, has obtained the record price of the season for a large consignment of nectarines sent by him to Dunedin. They realised 6£d per Considerable activity will be displayed in tree-planting this year. The local agents for the disposal of fruit trees say that the orders are coming in freely. The weather continues fine, but with frostv nights. I understand that good progress is being made with the petition for the resumption of Calloway runs. There is a feeling hero that the new Minister will be favourably dis]X)sed towards the proposal. A promising and popular young ladyMiss Jean Carroll, of Bald Hill Flatpassed away last week.
