LADIES' GOSSIP.
Over 90 persons partook at Goriest on of a -sea-pie, into the making of which there entered 2st of flour, six ox and sheep kidneys, 281 b of beefsteak, 2st of green vegetables, £st of onions, and 2st of turnips and carrot*, The total weight of the pie was over 2001 b, and it took two clays to cook. Mrs Patience Smith, a member of the famous English family of gipsies, has died at Leeds at the age of 103. Until three months ago she had never slept under a roof. She had 14 children. Seventy-eight of her grandchildren and 44 of her greatgrandchildren are still alive. Up to her last moments she retained posession of all her faculties; her hair was barely tinged with grey, and most of her teeth were still sound. Miss Rosa Morison, who died suddenly at her room at University College, London, recently, at the age of 71, had been Lady Superintendent of the College for nearly 40 years, and was a pioneer of women's education. Her appointment was made soon after women were first admitted to the College, in 1871. She joined in founding College Hall as a residence, for women medical students. At her funeral on February 12 five hundred women students marched in procession.
