CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY.
The first meeting of the Council of the newly-formed Clydesdale Horse' Society of New Zealand, was-, held' at the offices at Messrs. The Interim Secretary also reported that the amount of cash received for membership fees and donations to the funds of the society, and actually banked, was £387 4s 7d. The common seal of the society was submitted to the meeting, and. adopted. Other matters, such as the making ot by-laws, fixing fees for entry in Stud Book, and the appointment of a permanent secret tary to the society were held over for the next mcteting in order to obtain a fuller representation of the council. A sub-com-mittee was appointed to draft by-laws and generally to make suggestions for consideration at the next "general meeting of the council, wh'ch it was proposed to hold at tho time of the Summer Show iir Dunedin, in November next. • Satisfaction was expressed at tho encouraging success that this important movement- has so far met with in all parts of the Dominion. All the letters received at the meeting pointed to the necessity for the existence of such an organisation to protect the interests of Clydesdale breeders throughout the Dominion-.
