MELBOURNE, September 25. The train which came to grief at Molesworth was a mixed one, and the accident was caused by a truck jumping the rails. It travelled about 200 yards before the coupling broke. The truck left the line, dragging another one with it over the embankment. The following truck and two passenger cars continued till they struck a bridge, when a truck and a passenger car containing 18 passengers toppled into a 30ft gully. The body of the car was left under the carriage, and the top dropping off the passengers were thrown clear out. Had the heavy nnder-carriage fallen with the car the consequences would have been much more serious. Sixteen persons were injured, the most serious being a broken arm and cute and bruises.
