; An organised attempt was made at Port Elizabeth to lynch a native who was guilty of committing a criminal assault on a girl. The polio© at Bergville (Natal) frustrated an attempt to lynch a native who had .attempted! to criminally assault two ladies.
Mr Lewis, a leading citizen of Buluwayo, killed a native who was accused of indecency towards- his little girls. Mr Lewis, who killed a native who was accused of indecency towards his little girls, went to the local newspaper office, and caused all the native newsboys to parade before him. He identified the ono accused of indecent overtures to his girls, and marched him to a pieoe of vacant ground behind the office, and shot him dead. He then surrendered to the police, and has bean charged with murder. He was released on £3OOO bail. Public opinion is entirely favourable to the father.
