DUNEDIN CIIY MISSION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The fifteenth annual meeting of the Dunedin City Mission was held in the Y.W.C.A. Booms on the 17th. Mr G. M. Thomson, M.P., president of " the mission, occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of ladies and gentlemen. The Chairman s-aid the annual report was, as their reports had been for a great many years, eminently satisfactory from every point of view, not only as a record of work dore, but from its linancial side. The Rev. P. W. Fairelough seconded the motion, and said that he had known Mr Wright personally for the past 16 years and had known his high reputation as an evangelist many years before that. The position Mr Wright now occupied was one peculiarly suited to his gifts. He had filled it with growing acceptance to the publio of Dunedin and with the complete approval of his committee. The motion was carried by acclamation. The Rev. J. Chisholm then moved the following:—"That cordial thanks be given to all friends of the Dunedin City Mission, who have in many ways aseistod our missionary. And that grateful acknowledgment be made to those who have generously maintained the different funds of the mission during the past 12 months, and all the years of its existence." Mr Chisholm, who said he had known Mr Wright for some 36 years, paid a very high tribute to his worth ajid work, and in this he was supported by Sister Frances, who seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr T. W. White then moved the following : —"That this publio meeting once more desiree to express renewed sympathy and hearty approval of the Dunedin City Mission work so long conducted by Mr Duncan Wright, and again commend him and his work to all persons who are in accord with such efforts." In supporting the motion Mr White spoke of the high occupied by Mr Wright in the esteem of the Sunday school teachers of Dunedin. Mr G. H. Smith seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr F. G. Oumming moved, and the Rev. V. G. B. King seconded the following motion:—"That the retiring committee be heartily thanked for its services during the past 12 months, but specially the painstaking hon. treasurer (Mr Rosevear), and that the following' gentlemen be elected to office for the year ending 28th February, 1912:—Messrs John A. D. Adams Edward Aslin, John Barnes, John Blair, Joseph Braithwaite, P. L. Clark, Peter Dick, Alexander Haig, George Reid, Ernest Rosevear, W. E. Sessions, G. M. Thomson, and James H. Wilkinson." Both the speakers took the opportunity of adding their tribute of praise to Mr Wright. The motion was duly carried, and the meeting concluded with the singing of the hymn "God be with you till we, meet again" and the benediction.
