CHRISTIAN BROTHERS' OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

Tho first annual meeting of the Christian Brothers Old Boys' Association was held in St. Joseph's Hall on Feb. 28. The gathering was largely attended, and was presided over by Mr J. B. Callan, jun. (president). The treasurer's statement showed receipts for the year from subscriptions and donations, £59. Expenditure: Expenses of socials. £34- 3s; printing, £7 3s; postages, etc., £5 4s; —total, £4-7, which leaves a balance of £l2 cash in hand. OFFICE-BEARERS. The following were elected office-bearers for the forthcoming year : —Flatron, Bishop Verdon ; vice-patron, Father Coffey; president, Mr A. J. Sullivan; vice-presidents, Messrs Hussey and Callan; hon. secretary, Mr E. W. Spain; hon. treasurer, Bro. J. C. Brady (both re-elected) ; committee—■ Messrs Higgins, Laffey, Casey, O'Brien, Roissbotham, Geerin, J. Hally, Father O'Neill, Bro. Moore; auditor, Mr T. B. Thompson. A resolution was carried recommending the incoming committee to consider the advisability of inducing all members of the association to contributo an annual sum towards tho fund for providing suitable school buildings for the Christian Brothers. An excellent programme of music was contributed by St. ' Joseph's Orchestra under tho conductorship of Bro. Cuaaek. Mr Beaumont presided at tho piano. Solos were contributed by Messrs Popplewell, Mee and Preston.
