PALMERSTON SOUTH NOTES.

October 27, 1910. Dear "Pasqu'in,"—The Plimmer-Dennis-ton combination duly presented to playgoers here "Lover's Lane " and "Trie Passing of the Third Floor Back." Business was good, and patrons were highly delighted with both plays. The former was more to popular taste, being a really sweet drama. The mountings were of the very highest order, the third and fourth settings being especially good. The company is comprised of some veiry well-known people, and on the appearanoe of Mrs Brough the audience showed by acclamation that an old favourite was not forgotten. There is no need for me to go into details. The people in your city will no doubt give this company the reception which it deserves. An old 1 friend in Edio O'Dell is treasurer. I had great pleasure in meeting Reynolds De.nniston, he being. cm old friend of mine in days of yore. I wish the company a prosperous tour. The Borotigh Picture Company have a very good programme in the current one. If the standard is maintained they will geit a good share of patronage. The views of New York are splendid. With favourable weather conditions Beoba and Co. will give two balloon ascents at the show grounds on Saturday. This is quite a novelty in these parte?. I take the opportunity of sincerely congratulating the Wanganui Band on their meritorious win at Ballarat. We had the pleasure of htaring the band before its departure. The Ljtton Dramatic Combination play here show week, and, given fine weather, should do well. Haywards still continue to attract a large number of fhe public to their pictures. The star film this week is " A Regajtto on the Mekong River." This picture is pm» of the best yet shown. The usual Patho gazette is also full of choice pictures, and never . fails to draw. During show week a number of novelties will be added! to the programme, with no extra chargein the tariff.--Yours faithfully. Onlooker.
