OTAGO ANNUAL REGATTA.

The annual meeting of representatives of clubs interested in the Otago annual re gatta was held in the Council Chambers, Port Chalmers, on October 23, when the following clubs were represented:—Otago Rowing Club, Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club, Port Chalmers Yacht and Motor Boat Club, and Queen’s Drive Boating Club. Mr N. Dodds presided, and there were about 20 representatives present. The annual report, after expressing thanks to all who had assisted in many directions with tho last regatta, concluded ns follows:—From a financial )>oint tho regatta was also very satisfactory. Starting with a credit balance of £77 10s 7d, the balance sheet now submitted shows a credit balance of £lO5 8s 3d. In. retiring, your committee thanks clubs and competitors for the support accorded it during the past year, and trust its successor will receive the same generous support.” The Chairman stated that as Christmas Day this year would fail on a Sunday tho holiday observed would probably bo the following Monday and Tuesday. In that event, the question arose as to the best day on which to hold the regatta. Personally, he thought the Monday would be the best day, as they would have the Tuesday to fall back upon if tho Monday's weather proved unfavourable. It was unanimously resolved, on the motion of Mr J. D. Morgan, seconded by Mr W. J. Wilson, that the regatta be held on Monday, December 26. The following officers were elected: Chairman, Mr N. Dodds (re-elected); vicechairman, Mr W. Morgan; treasurer, Mr Y. Donald (re-elected); secretary, Mr E. S. Wilson (re-elected); committee —Dr Borrie. Messrs W. J. Mitchell, W. M‘Culioch. E. Hazlett, J..H. Crawford. J. Galbraith. E. Knewstub'o, D. Wall, H. Percy. Mr F. W. Platts (Mayor of Port Chalmers) was added to tho list of patrons. Captain Strang was - re-elected commodore, and Mr E. Godfred was added to the list of vicepresidents. On the motion of Mr E. Knewstubb. seconded by Mr D. Wall, it was resolved that tho number of members of committee bo nine, instead of 16, with one delegate from each club.
