A RACECOURSE INCIDENT.
MELBOURNE, October 27. » The officials of the Sando\rn Park Racecourse discovered an attempt to tamper
with the scales. A hole was cut through the floor of the weighing-room, enabling the weighing-machine to be operated from below. A set of carpenter's tools was left behind. Evidently the work was incomplete. The detectives are investigating vhe matter.
