HOSPITAL SATURDAY ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee of the Hoa-

pital Saturday Association was held on October 27, Mr G. C. Israel in the chair. The Chairman stated that he had been, in communication with members of Parliament in connection with the reinstatement of the subsidy, which had been taken from thorn last year. He had been getting soine very favourable replies. The Hon. J. T. Paul said he would assist Mr Arnold in the direction desired, and Messrs Allen, G. M. Thomson, and Sidey wrote to the same effect. The Chairman aiso said that the Rev. i W. Saunders had been pushing the appeal j for collectors among the young people of ! his church with satisfactory results. I Mr Logic* submitted drafts of two circu- | lars to be sent out. One was to head ; masters, teachers, etc., in connection with j the appeal to school children for Id each, j and the other was to ladies for their help in collecting. The circulars would- be to j some extent educative.—The circulars were approved.—lt was decided to call a meet- . ing of all helners in the Town Hall for Monday evening. November 7. It was decided that Mr M'George, with : the necessary assista-ice, should control the ' collection from business .firms. ! Mr Logie raised the question of sending lists through, factories and other businesses, j to which employees should be asked to contribute. He thought some definite policy should be decided upon, as some men felt that this was not fair, as the*=e people were again appealed to._on the j streets.
