THE FRENCH TURF.
PARIS, June 3. M. Yeilpicard, a prominent racehorse owner, is abandoning the French turf. He declares that the suppression of the “ ring ” and the substitution of the Government totalisator for bookmakers have led to the advent of a class of owner who is. running horses merely to make money by snatching surprise wins. This procedure filches money from the public, and plays ducks and drakes with “ form ” and true sport.
