It was intended to get off the events in two days, but the numerous entries in the- various events rendered it necessarv to carry over some of the finals into Thursday. There was a large attendance, and the keenest interest ■was takerx in the work done. A dance was | held on Tuesday evening in connection j with the trials, and proved highly enjoyable. Briasco's band supplied the music, and Mr C. Beer made an efficient M.C. As an additional attraction on Thursday several impromptu events iand hack races ■were got off, and provided much excitement. In the married ladies' race the ■winner turned up in a lady who has passed the allotted span of three-score years and ten. The following are the results of the Maiden.—R. R.
