CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR UNION.

i ANNUAL MEETING. ' The annual meeting of this organisation I was held on the 16th in the hall of the Trinity Methodist Church, under the control of the president (the Rev. W. Grigg). The annual report stated, inter alia, that I the year had been one of changes. The president {the Rev. N. A. Davis) had removed to America, but his place had been worthily filled by the Rev. W. Grigg. The secretary (Mr Nevyall) hod also left Dunedin, his place being taken by MiWilliams. The committee had held 11 monthly meetings and 12 executive meetings during the year. The attendance might have been better. During the year a mission was held in the Garrison flail, i and group meetings ha<d been held at Port Chalmers, Ravensbourne, North-East Valley, „Abbotsford, South Dunedin, and Kaikorai. Thanks were due to many for work done in connection with these efforts. Thirty societies were in the union. The largest amount collected for mission purposes was secured by the St. Andrew Presbyterian Society—-£37 12s. The Lookout Committee reported that it had been hampered for want of workers. An effort had been made to visit every affiuiated society. Societies needed to keep steadily in view the ideal participation promised in the pledge, and as an aid subjects should be chosen on which Endcavourers could speak by means of actual experience. The Endeavour movement should appeal to more males than it did, r-s Christ was the pattern of a perfect type of manhood. The total receipts far the past year had been £43 5s 9d, and the expenditure £39 18s 9d, leaving a credit balance of £3 7s 2d—the largest for a number of years. In conclusion, thanks were tendered the Hanover Street Baptist Church for the use of a room for meetings. The report was adopted, as was the balance sheet, read by the treasurer (Mr [ C. W. Jackson). The following office-bearers were elected : President, Rev. G. Knowles Smithy vicepresidents—Revs. Dallaston and Fairmaid and Miss Black; corresponding secretary, Miss Manson; recording secretary, Jar Girvan; treasurer, Miss Wade; convener Lookout Committee, Rev. Mr Suckling. A musical programme was contributed by the following:—Mrs Don (solo), Misses Stokes and Thompson (pianoforte duet), Miss R. Park (solo), Mr Wallace (violin solo), Miss White (solo), and Mies Taylor ' (eolo). Refreshments were provided.

The Rev. Mr Dallaston gave an address on " Endeavour " lines, anil specially referred to the need of m«n and his own liking for and appreciation of tho " Endeavourism," which was, he said, '"a pet child of his own."
