THE WOOL SALES.
LONDON, March 2. Tallow: Stock, 3496 casks; imports, 1827; deliveries* 1992. Fourteen thousand quarters ot boutn Australian February wheat have beeneoW at 38s 9d. ■ March o. There was a large attendance at the Antwerp wool sales. Only moderate animation was shown, due" to the reluctance to pay sellers' limits.
Merino realised January prices, but crossbred was slightly easier. A total of 3327 bales of La Plata wool was offered, 736 being sold. March 6.
The Antwerp wool sales have closed; 6475 bales of La Plata were offered and 2036 sold.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, February 28 : "Wool: The list of wool arrivals is closed,' and all.vour wools have arrived in time. The new arrivals amount to 365,000 bales, of which 229,000 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving 141,000 available for saie, including 5000 bales carried forward from last series." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) is in reeept of the following advice by cablegram from its
London office: —"The market has upward tendency for merino wool, and is very firm for crossbred."
