FIRE IN ROYAL PALACE
ATHENS,' January 10. When 400 British sailors were landed to extinguish; the fire at King George’s palace on Christmas Eve they were accompanied by 100 armed marines and a flag. They pushed through the Greek troops, took a front position, and mounted guard over all treasures. An armed escort also accompanied the Russians. The Greek officers protested, and the Athens papers are angry. The Premier explains that such escorts are usual, but the subject is causing much irritation.
