MEAT EXPORT TRADE.
LONDON, January 14. The .Standard’s correspondent reports that a. strong committee of Alberta stock-raisers has addressed the Dominion Minister of Agriculture in favour of establishing chilled plants and packing-houses throughout the West, cold-storage depots at Montreal, and an open winter port with a. view to placing the meat export trade in a position equal to that of Australia and New Zealand. The committee proposes to form a company with a capital of 8,000,000d01, whereof the ; Government is asked to guarantee 4 per | cent, upon 6,ooo ; OpOdcL
