While the Kaitangata, Stirling, and Balclutha Clubs gave the tournament that support which, era a matter of course, was to be expected, and entered right into the spirit of the thing. The representation from Dunedin was very poor. This was the one disappointing feature of the tournament, and the p.resic"Vnt of the centre, Mr James Esson, did not fail, to comment on it in the course of a brief speech of welcome on the Green on the opening day. To be pitted against *a town combination is what any keen member of a country club 1-coks for, but in many cases the turn of events brought the members of one rink or nair against their own club ola.yers.
