LONDON, September 28. The Standard's Berlin correspondent advises that 139 German families, comprising 500 souls, will start in a fortnight for Queensland, where they will receive certain concessions from the Government, prodded they remain at least a year. It is stated in Berlin that an immigration agency there receives £5 for every man, every three women, and every two children despatched from German}'. September 29. The Queensland Agent-gieneral explains that ths Berlin agent was not remunerated ; he was merely a voluntary worker who represented 160 nominated emigrants. OTTAWA, September 28. The total immigration into Canada for the last fiscal year was 146,908, including 59,832 persons from the United States and ! 52,901 from Great Britain. The American | immigrants during the- last 13 years have j brought £12,000,000 in cash and effects ; into the country.
