OTAGO FARMERS' HORSE BAZAAR.
The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Asgo-* ciation reports : —On Saturday we offered t j a representative gathering of farmers, town carriers, and . contractors an entry of 33 draughts, vanners, spring-carters, harness and hackney horses. ' Tho horse market dt Jate has been somewhat unsettled, but tho demand for good horses of most classes seems to have improved slightly, arid in tho course of a week or two wo hope to see prices improving considerably. Good farm draughts were- selling at late values on: Saturday, but competition waa keener, and' a number of country horses went to fresh; stables. We had one or two good springcarters, and although several brought goodprices the demand was limited. We had! country consignments from Milton, Milburn, Taieri, and Waitati. Next week we shall offer a shipment of North Island horses on account of Messrs F inlay and Billinghurst, of Aramoho. They comprise an excellent lot of draughts, \anners, order cart, and livery stable horses, and a- number of superior harness cobs. We quote : Good! useful draught mares and 'gelding (young and sound), from £32 to £45; light and aged draughts, £23' to £32 ; heavy forry pairs, from £8(1 to "£100; useful plough marcs and geldings, £30 to £38 10s —pedigree Clydesdale mare 3, to £120; ercod sorts of Clydesdale mares suitable for stud purposes anoT general farm work. £33 to £50; carriage; pairs, £60 to £100; spring-carters (<rood' sorts), from £24- to £23; upstanding buggy marcs and geldings, from £15 to £22 ;' hackneys, from £12 to £15; lighter sorts, from £7 to £12.
Taking 1 into account present bookings up to the end of this month, the Invercargill Municipal Theatre will have been, occupied 133 times during tho year.
