NEW ZEALAND REPRESENT ATIVE CADET.
RETURN FROM ENGLAND. AUCKLAND, January 10. Colour-Fergeant Wm. Friar., of the Onehunga High School Cadets, who has been competing in the English Cadets rifleshooting meeting, returned home to-day, via Sydney, by the s.s. Wimmera. He waa successful with the rifle, being second in each contest. He competed in the Lady Gwendoline Gunners Cup, the Cheyls.more meeting. He Avas presented by Lord Roberts with a high-grade Winchester rifle and from the London School Cadets lie received on behalf of his corps, a Union. Jack bearing the inscription, " Loyal New Zealand." Cadet Friar, who is an observant boy of 18 years, states that Lord Roberts has issued an invitation for a team of 10 New Zealand boys to go to England this ] ye^r, and has ais-o suggested! that an inter- j national C§,det rifle competition be held : annually, to be fired in the different I countries. 1
