CENTRAL PRODUCE MART (LTD.).

Reilly, Scott, and Gill (proprietors) report for' week ending Saturday, the Bth met.: — Business (thanks to our country consignors and customers) has grown to such an extent that we have had to secure additional accommodation. Fortunately we have been successful in securing the whole of the Queen's Warehouse, which covers a quarter of an acre. Fruit: Early in the week consignments of fruit were sufficient for local requirements, and prices satisfactory. Cherries were in short supply, and 50 cases received by our firm from Mr J. G. Turner made the record price of 24s 8d per cose. Auckland tomatoes have arrived in excellent condition, but Nelson tomatoes and plums are too green to command high prices. Teviot fruits, on the whole, have been very satisfactory ; still, there are some consignors sending peaches and apricots to this market which are useless for commercial purpoees. Considering ks have such an abundance of choke fruit available, growers will be well ailvi^d in leaving any inferior or third grade fruit at home. .We give below the actual prices secured for our consignors (readers kindly noting that tho lower prices were (Secured on Saturday only) : — Apricots, choice 4d, 44d, medium 3d to 3£d, fair 2£d, poor lid ; peaches, ohoice 3d, 3&d to 4d, medium 2id, 2^d, 2|d, and 3d, poor lfd. to 2d ; plums, cherry plums 2£d, 2sd, dark ljd, 2d, 3d, Auckland ljd, 2d, 2id, and 2id ; cherries, B£d. 9d, 9|d, 9|d, 10£ d, lid, Is Id. le Id, Is 2d, and Is 4d; tomatoes, ohoice 7£d, Bd, and 9d, medium Sd, 6d, and 6£d, poor 3d, 3£d, 4d, 4|d,; local grapes, Is 4d, Is Sd, Is 6d ; rasps, 4|d, sd ; gooseberries, lid, lfd; black currants, 2£d, 2sd, and 3d: rod currants, 3d; mushrooms, local s£d, 6d, and 6£d, other* 2£d ; green peas, lid to 12d, and 2d ; potatoes.
