PAPAROA ON FIRE. .«.

SYDNEY, December 29. The Underwriters' Association has been advised that the Paparoa has put back to St. Vincent on fire. It lias been decided to flood No. 3 hold. The fire btarted in No. 3 hold, which has been flooded. WELLINGTON, December 29. The New Zealand Shipping Company received information this afternoon that the Paparoa lias been on fire at St. Vincent. The fire occurred m No. 3 hold, which had to be flooded. Tlie vessel, which is of 6563 tons, is in command of Captain Clifford, and left Wellington for London on the 20th ult. The cargo taken from New Zealand by the Paparoa. was as follows: — From Auckland—l9o bales of wool, 13,291 boxes of butter, 379 crates of cheese. From Oainaru — 26 bales of wool, 42 bale 6of sheepskins, 1 package of general cargo. From Bluff— 9 bales of wool, 2668 crates of cheese, 43 bales of sheepskins, 13,035 carcases of mutton, 195 carcases of lamb, I 299 crates of rabbits, 17 bales of rabbitskins, 52 bales of fibre, 114 casks of tallow, 75 sacks of fescue, 256 bales of tow, 34 casks of pelts, 10 casks of intestines. From Port Chalmers — 70 bales of wool, ' 392 bales of sheepskins, 711 crates of cheese, 7 packages of sundries, 561 enrcases of mutton. 605 crates of rabbits, 113 bales of rabbitskins. 75 casks of tallow, 38
