Ths railway officials had an exceedingly ibysy time on Friday, as 6330 outward pas©hgers were dealt with. Branch lines, 500 — Principal stations: Middlemarch 200, Out ram 60. Lawrence 70.

Two American black bears will be added to the Wellington zoological collection at Newtown Park. They are the gift of Dr Hornaday, of the New* York Zoological Gardens, and are expected to arrive in March next. The blind deer in tho Wellington Botanical Gardens has also been giv«n to Newtown Park.
