AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL. ELTHAM, December 5.
The secretary of the New Zealand Axemen's Association has received a cable stating that Charles Miley, of Victoria, champion axeman of Australia, will leave Sydney to-day to compete in the championship event at the Eltham CanTival. Miley lats year defeated Gus Blanch twice in succe-ssion, and won the Melbourne Handicap from scratch. In the world's cliampionship in 2ft standing blocks, which this year has been allotted by the AustraJasian Association to the Eltham meeting, Miley will be opposed by prominent New Zealand axemen.
