WEST COAST.
The Ross railway was opened for traffic on the 2nd as far as Totara Bridge, which ; is 15 minutes' walk from the Ross RailwayStation. The line has mot as yet been taken over by the Railway Department, but regular trains will be run by the Public Works Department on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and connecting with the ordinary trains at Ruatapu. Th<9 pr.oceedin.gs were of a purely informal nature.
