MELBOURNE, October 15. The Earl of Dudley, through tli© Secretary of State for the Colonies, has received a Teply to the uivitaifaion to Mr Roosevelt to visit Australia. The President very deeply appreciated the courteous umtationf especially in view of the more than generous hospitality the people of Australia had everywhere shown the American fleet. It would not, however, be ptssilble for him, after visiting Africa, to visit Australia, but he moat earnestly hoped tbait some dhy it would be his good fortune to make a trip to the giant young Coanmonw^eailt'h ol the South Seas, upon the future growth and success of which so muoh depended foT the whole of the civilised world. NEW YORK, October 17. President Roosevelt, after his African it-rip, will visit England early in 1910, his ■wife joining him at Khartoum for the journey northwards.
