REFORM IN MACEDONIA
EUSSIA STAYS HER HAND.
ST. PETERSBURG, August 14
Russia, ia a note to the Powers, states that since the complete and sincere application of the principles embodied in the charter which the Sultan has spontaneously granted to Turkey would assure Macedonian reforms which the Powers are pieesing to obtain, Russia is Teady to suspend her programme of reforms in order to avoid any expression of distrust of the Sultan and the Ottoman Government.
Russia states that Britain has also abanloned for the moment the pressing of her reforms.
The Sultan has warned the Powers not to consider their reforming role terminated unless a .real improvement js effected in Macedonia.
