GISBORNE, August 13. Th« Nelson hockey representatives, . returning from Auckland, spent a couple of hours ashore yesterday afternoon. They played a match with Poverty Bay representatives, tlie local team winning by 3 goals NAPIER, August 13. The hockey match between the Nelson and Hawke's Bay teams was played on the Recreation Ground this afternoon in good weather, but on a muddy field. Hawke's Bay won by 1 goal to nil. Shattky hit tho goal early in the first spell. Play was even, in the first spell, but Hawke's Bay had the best of the second. OTAGO LADIES' HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. The following are the results of matches played on August 8: — A Grade. — University (2 goals) drew with, Dunedin (2 goals) ; Otago (2 goals) drew with High School (2 goals) ; Wariata beat Green Island by 7 goals to nil. B Grade.— St. Hilda's beat High School by 1 goal to nil ; Brae-mar beat Union by 1 , goal to nil ; Momcna I boat University by 6 goals to 1 ; Girton beat Otago by 5 goals to nil; Waiiata beat Dunedin by 7 goab to J; Mornington won from Momona II bydefault. O Grade. — Ravensbourne beat Momington by 2 goals to 1; Braemar won from. Union by default. CANTERBURY v. OTAGO. Otago will be represented against ,Canterbury at Dunedin on Saturday next as follows:—Goal, White; full backs— Johnson and Ryburn ; half backs — Thomson, Moore, and Fenwiek; forwards — Madill, Calder, Cuttle, Gower, Rutherford: emergencies— back, Seeyle ; forward, Adams.
