WOMEN LEGISLATORS.
A CONFIDENT PREDICTION. AUCKLAND, March 11. At a welcome tendered this afternoon to the delegates of the W.C.T.U., now visiting Auckland, Mrs Cole (the New Zealand president) confidently prophes'ed that there would be women legislators in the not far distant future. " And when we have them," she added, "many will be far more capable than some of the men now in the House." Mrs Cole went on to refer to the humour of the situation when the Infant Life Protection Bill was before the House. They do the best then can, poor things," she said, "and if they won't let us help them, inside Parliament, we must do the best we can outside."
