LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
OTEKAIKE AND OTHER ESTATES. "" (Fbom Oub Own Correspondent.) •WELLINGTON, January 11. The Government will be offering some r £7,000 acres of land for selection during the next two months. The Pourerere settlement of 2000 odd acres, about two miles from Waipawa, will be disposed of on, January 22. Six days later the Rewi settlement of 1700 acres, Bear Hamilton, will fee offered, as well as- 3590 acres of the Itaumati settlement, Hawke's Bay. On February 3 the Otekaike settlement, 29,5fc0 acres, 23 miles from Duntroon, Otago, will be available. In the case of all these lands, the lease will be for 33 years with a perpetual right of renewal. Preference under the new Land Act will be given to married men ■With- families, and to unsuccessful applicants j at previous ballots. TE ARAI ESTATE. GISBORNE, January 13.
