The number of inmates on Ist January, 1907, was 172 men and 72 women; total, 244. j Received into the institution during jhe year, i 149 men and 45 women — total, 194. DiRI charged, "151 men and 57 women — total, 208. ■ Leaving on 31st December, 1907, 170 men, 1 and 60 women— total, 230. The iaying-in ward has been closed during the year. Fiftyone deaths occurred during the year. ,Th«_ expenses of tne institution amounted to £4427 7s lid The expenses far maintenance amounted to £4190 2s 2d, a decrease of £285 17s lid on the previous year. The charges are for jost of food, clothing, fuel, hous« i furnishings, salaries of master, matron, nurse*,. f servants, and doctor, medicin«s, funex»l«r. - | municipal rates, half office expenses, and all j working expenses in connection with tn» i institution. "T?he weekly average was 238, as against 241 last year, which gives a charge lof6s 9d per head per week. Thsamounii disbursed on out-door relief was £5448 14s -lOd, an increase of £266 3s 2d on tie previous year. The total amount expended was £10,-615 11s 4d.
