CLEARING SALE AT WAIKOUAITI.

Messrs Stronach, Morris, and Co. (Ltd.) , report having held a clearing sale at Waion the> 9th inst. The day was beautifully fine, and there was a record attendance pf farmers in the neighbourhood and others j from Dunedin, Peninsula, and North Otago. j For the convenience of buyers, the sale was I held at the Waikouaiti yards. The Worses were offered -first, end under very keen competition quickly found buj'ers at splendid Prices, aS follows • One s^^rtdid dnmgii mare, £75; 1 do, £46; 1 gelding, £41 10s; 1 do; £38; 1 do, £29 10a; 1 light spring-carter, £16 10s; 1 hack, £11. The prices realised for CO|W9 were: One 'at £5 15s, 1 at £5 2s, 2 at £5^ 1 at £4 17s 6d, 1 at £4 12s 6d, 1 at £4 10s, 1 at £4 2s 6d, 1 at £4, and several from £3 17s 6d to £3; aged cows, £2 to £2 10s. The bulls brought £4 10s eacli, and the yearlings 20s each. The pigs sold: One sow at £6 10s, 1 do at £3 12a 6d. —The same firm reports^ having held its usual monthly sale at the yards, Waikouaiii, on the above date, when it yarded about 100 head of cattle, consisting of all classes, all of which found buyers _at satisfactory prices. It also sold on account of Ward's trustees: One mare and foal at £10 15s, 1 colt at £9, and 1 pony at £7 10s.
