WELLINGTON, Nbvemoer 29. # <t As Magistrate's Oourt to-day Archibald fl'Nab was charged with stealing in May .ast £115 from David Sutherland. The laiior disappeared xrom his lodgings, and his body »as subsequently found in -Wei- . lington 'Hs/bour Chief Detective M'Grath said thsre was .ioi ;he slightest suspicion that the iheft was in any way connected with Ac death of Sutherland, who was a deaf mute, and who was discharged from prison in May, after serving a month for habitual drunkenness, and when diecharged had a cheoue for £115 »nd €5 in notes and gold. Evidence v/as called ;o show that accused And a man named Hinds were, aeen with Sutherland, and it is alleeod that they took the money from him. When th« body was found there was only one P enn J in the pockets of deceased's clothing. Thi further hearing of the ca3e was adjourned till Wednesday.
