A Large Family.
Bobbie Smith, aged nine, was the shining light of the family, and his father was very proud of him. *'I shall call round and see your teacher," said his fond parent, "and thank him for the interest he is taking in you." "If you do, father, I want to tell you that all the boys in our class are not known by name, but by number only. My number ie 25." In due course the father called at the school, and knocked at the door, which waß after a few moments opened by the head master. "Good-morn-ing," sir," said Mr Smith. "'I am the father of 25." "Indeed," replied the schoolmaster with surprise. "Come inside, my friend, I can feel for you, for I am the father of 12 myself." ;
