The football season has now praotically closed here, and the representative matches commence on Thursday next, when the selected of North Ota#o meet the representatives of South Canterbury. The club competition for the Senior Shield resulted in Athletic scoring the maximum points, with Oamaru, High School, and Excelsior following. For the Junior Flag competition the result is Exoelsior first, Athletic second, Oamaru third, and High School fourth. The entry of the High. School into, the senior ranks was responsible for a considerable increase in the interest in the game.
