Payne, but ac it has | not been, adopted by the committee appointed at the last meeting- of delegates, Hr would be unfair to comment on draft prepoeaJsi The committee elected' by the ' delegates reliegated the duty of framing * : constitution to Messrs Payne, GaUiaway, and Stephens. The last-named gentleman* has been, absent in Wellington oa Harbour Board business for some days, but on his., return a meeting of the sub-committee will be held some evening this week to consider '■ the draft- proposals; Then the full com-" j mittee will meet and discuss the oonstira-. j tioir, aiti prepare its report for submission, .to the delegates. The committee was jn-; structed to report to a meeting to be held in July,, bat that was impossible, and probably it wilt be the middle of August before the delegates can meet. j The social side of bowling has not been t neglected during the past week or two, j and several friendly inter-dub contests at j cards have taken place. Very wisely, no j intimation of these has been given- to the j press, because it has been found that the j presence of a reporter tends to make v»h*t ! should be a pleasant function a form at affair. i A meeting of the Social Conrmittee of (he Bttnedin Bowling Club was held- fast Saturday. Mr M. Sinclair presiding. The ladies present made all arrangements- for the annual social, which is to be held ou. August 16. At a meeting of the Auckland Provincial Bowling Association on July 26 a request was received from the Auckland, delegates j to the North Island Bowling Association asking the Auckland Association to undertake the North Island tournament *t&£ tße entertainment of visitors in J«nu*ry i«t in Auckland. It was decided that as the Auckland Association had not been, offieia'rly approached it could not undertake tbe tournament. The president and secretory of the association undertook to- aesiet a* chairman and secretary, and a strong committee has been formed.
