WELLINGTON, July 27 The -wreck of the Rangitoto, which sank off Jackson Head in 1873, was recently visited by a diver in search of the cargo of copper plate 6 which she was siH»posed to carry- The eteamer was found overgrown "with k«lp. and the engines in ■ a remarkable state of preservation, but thickly encrusted with submarine growth. No copper was found, but the 'after-hold contained a large quantity of liquor of various sorts. Some was sampled, and found to have been improved by submersion, except the brandy. No money was discovered in the strong-room, it having been removed when the vessel was abandoned.
