HEAVY RAIN IN HAWKE'S BAY.
NAPIER, July 29. ' Heavy and continuous rain fell yesterday, and it is feared that this wist prove disastrous to lambing. The weather so far has been most unfavourable, and the percentage of iambs this year is likely to be much below last year's record. WAEROA, July 29. It has been raining' heavily here since Friday, and in consequence the rivers are in flood. To-day the weattver is showery.
A group of New York artists has purchased a site in West Fifty-seventh street, and will erect a- vplandid studio building on it at a cost of £160,000.
