A meeting of the New Zealand Trotting A*v sociation was held on Wednesday afternoon; present— Messrs P. Selig (president), T. Maxr, A L. Myers, \Y. G. Garrard, E. Clarkson, J. H. Pollock, W. Ma Selig touched briefly on the principal alteration which had been made in the rules, and pointed out the necessity of those engaged in the sport making themselves cognisant with the new rules. Mr "J. Lewis " waited on the association to explain the position with regard to the mare Wild Wind. The association had been notified that the mare had been sold by J. Hanna, of Sefton. to Mt "Lewis/ but subsequently wu nominated by Haoina, without any notioe having been given to the association of a re-sale. j Mr "Lewis" explained that the sale had been 1 one with conditions, and had not been cony pleted, and he had not thought it necessary to take a«y further steps in the matter. Moreover, he stated that, when registering another | transfer, he had told the secretary of the association that the mare, which he noticed had ! been -trotting in Hanna's name, should not i be registered aa being owned by "J. Lewis," but as owned by Hamia. Mr Myers moved — "That the explanation b» ! accepted." , Mj- J?o!Jock seconded the motion pro forma. Ar*er a brief discussion, an amendment, moved by Mr Clarkson, seconded by Mr Hayward, to fine Mr "Lewis" £2, was caanried. An explanation by Mx "Lewis" as to his failure to stipply information was accepted as satisfactory. Mr Love waited, on the association to explain matters in connection with the Taranaki Trotting Club's inaugural meeting, at which two unregistered hoxees had been, allowed to sia*t. - It was decided to inform the officials of th» Taranaki Clu-b that the horses Tip Top and Mies Judge (l*te Dolly) were not eligible to the wt-akes won, as they were unregistered at the timo of starting. Applications for the Temoval of the disqualifications inourred through participation in the unregistered meetings of the Taxa*a and Rahotu Clubs (Taranaki) were granted. The disqualification of J. W. Burke waa removed aa was aleo that of the mare Barmaid, on th<? application of Mr T. Jones, Tinuaru. The secretary of the South Canterbury Jockey Club wrote, stating that, in term* of a resolution passed at the annual meeting, he whs instructed to ask whether, in the event of the club continuing to hold trotting events, the association would send down (at its own expanse) a. steward to watch' proceedings. The letter was left to the president to reply, in terms of the new rule, which lays it down that if the association does, at the request of a club, appoint an advisory steward, the coat must be borne by the club. An application for the registration of the Broad Bay (Dunedin) Trotting Club was referred to the Tahuna Park Trotting Olub.

The programme of the Westport Trotting Club and the Granity Trotting Club were passed, provided that dates diU not clabh with any other fixtures. • A letter was read from the Victorian Breeders, ajid Owners' Trotting Horse Association endorsing the disqualifications imposed by the New Zealand Association.
